When work knocks off at 5 on a Friday, there’s nothing worse than remembering that your bank balance won’t allow for celebratory drinks, let alone a wild weekend. Everyone has experienced this feeling at least once in their life – so we’re here to save you with our no money weekend tips for Sydney!
Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk
Dotted with beachside parks and boasting spectacular views, this walk is perfect to do solo, with your partner or some friends. In Summer time, this is the perfect way to dry off after a dip at Bondi. PS: Make sure you phone is fully charged – you’re sure to secure the perfect Instasnap for the weekend!
Pack A Picnic
Grab an assortment of leftovers from your fridge (or some cheap eats from your local markets), and then head somewhere for a picnic. The Chinese Gardens, Botanical Gardens, and Hyde Park and Bronte Park are just some of our favourite places to take a blanket, a book and relax for the day.
Australian and New Zealand based brand lululemon athletica is your one-stop shop for activewear and accessories. They also offer community yoga for beginners in most of their stores around Australia. Their Balmain store generally has free sessions at 8:30am every Sunday, but it pays to check in case the dates change! You can check out their Sydney stores (and the community event schedules) here.
Sunday Afternoon Bowls
Bowls on a Sunday afternoon is a great way to unwind and catch up with friends, and Sydney is full of great places to do so. For a cheap weekend session, check out the Bowling & Recreation Clubs in Marrickville, Clovelly and Concord. Also, don’t forget that Aussie bowls clubs are renowned for their cheap drinks!
Free laughs and free drinks? Every Sunday, Terrace Comedy host a night at The World Bar in Kings Cross. Head down at 6:30pm to experience the fun – their line up includes comedians from around Australia and the world, and they also give out free drinks throughout the night. Make sure you book a free table to secure your spot.
